I am delighted to be working with both Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) and the HKTDC to launch the Asia Wine Academy (AWA)! The debut of the Asia Wine Academy is one of the highlighted features of the HKTDC’s 3-day Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair held from 9th to the 11th of November, 2017.
AWA will be offering an intensive course leading to a Certificate issued by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s School of Hotel and Tourism Management. The course is based on the classes taught for the Master of Science program in International Wine Management, offered by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University SHTM. To be eligible, attendees will need to take two different sessions, one led by me and the other led by Professor Steve Charters, a fellow Master of Wine and professor at the Burgundy School of Business. Two intensive courses include: Contemporary Trends in Wine Consumption (Course A) & Mastering Tasting and Rising Wine Trends (Course B), based on the Master of Science program in International Wine Management offered by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University SHTM. We had a great turnout at M on the Bund on 30th October in Shanghai for the press conference announcing the top rated wines sold online in China. Congratulations to the 60+ wines that were rated the best among their peers out of over 250 most popular wines sold online tasted blind. Click here to see the full list of the Top Online Wines in China.
I hope to see many of you in Guangzhou later this month at the Languedoc wine masterclass at the 19th Interwine China fair held at the International Convention and Exhibition Centre on the 13th of November. During the Interwine fair, I will be signing and distributing my comprehensive tasting booklet on the results of China’s Top Wines Sold Online. To attend either session in Guangzhou, email us at [email protected].
Make sure you check out Wine Lister, where I recently joined Jancis Robinson, Michel Bettane and Antonio Galloni as their partner critic. Why give wines a 100 points when they can receive 1000 points?
If you are unable to attend one of the events in Hong Kong or China, follow my daily updates on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, WeChat or Weibo. For more in-depth wine stories, look for my column in Forbes, Robb Report China or search My Views to read my recent thoughts on the world of wine.
